End:    May 12, 2013 5:30 pm
Venue:     Harbourfront
Lakeside Terrace, Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Award winning vocal group, Hampton Avenue is reuniting to sing at this magnificent
Sing Vocal Arts Festival at Harbourfront, Toronto.

The 8 voice jazz vocal ensemble disbanded in 2002, and since then – one of our cherished singers passed on to add her voice and wonderful spirit to God’s heavenly choir.  Stephanie Taylor will be sadly missed, as will baritone Tim Olfert, who moved to the west coast.
Meanwhile, we have 6 voices assembled for this exciting concert – Debbie Fleming, Judy Tate, Suba Sankaran, Dylan Bell, Larry Folk and Tom Lillington.  We’ll sing some of Debbie’s songs and arrangements, as well as some Gene Puerling and Take 6.
The weekend, beginning on Thursday May 9th, will be a wonderful taste of vocal groups – both local and international.  Highlights will be The Real Group and Swingles Singers.
Check out the Sing Toronto website listed above.
Some events, like our concert, are free of charge.

This lovely theatre setting welcomes Debbie Fleming, Suba Sankaran, Dylan Bell and Tom Lillington to perform an evening of acappella Christmas and seasonal songs.  The full 10 voice group, Hampton Avenue, recorded a very popular Christmas CD in 1996, entitled All I Want for Christmas,  and the Hampton-4 will be singing a few of those songs as well as some other seasonal goodies.  This vocal group is the epitome of excellent musicianship, and has been singing together for over 15 years.   I’m VERY excited about this concert!  We’ll also have our Hampton Avenue Christmas CD for sale – a very good stocking stuffer for your loved ones!

This is a rare appearance, folks.  Try not to miss it!

Suba Sankaran leads her own busy "east meets west" award winning, Juno nominated fusion ensemble Autorickshaw,  sings in 80's retro vocal ensemble Retrocity.   Dylan Bell is also in Retrocity, and is currently producing the famed Swingle Singers.    Tom Lillington is a member of the classical Canadian Chamber Choir and adds his rich bass  tones to Retrocity.  Debbie Fleming sings first soprano in The Toronto Mendelssohn Choir, directs, sings and accompanies bluegrass-country trio ChoirGirlz and sings with her own jazz ensemble, The Debbie Fleming Trio.
